Learning Objectives

The learning objectives of this course will cover: 


  • interpret the occupational health and safety legislative framework
  • understand legislative obligations and duties
  • comprehend meaningful representation in the workplace, including Designated Work Groups, HSRs and Health and Safety Committees
  • understand some tools used for health and safety issue resolution
  • learn about the consequences of non-compliance with the law 

Duration

The course is delivered over approximately 4 hours


Purpose

The course is intended to be an introduction to the laws that keep us safe at work and to your duties and obligations as a representative of your employer. 

Who can participate in this course?

This course is specifically designed for managers, supervisors, and those in leadership positions in the workplace. 

However, anyone with an interest in health and safety could also benefit from attending this training course.
